The very first time I chatted with Joy and Arra, we talked for like an hour and were super connected! They both have so much energy and passion, and their love for each other is apparent in the way they treat one another and have fun together!
Besides the strong connection and good vibes, we also had a lot in common! Joy and I connected over our love of vintage floral cottage core. (Arra actually ended up hiring me to design Joy a pair of pressed lavender earrings, which she surprised her with during their vow renewal!) Lavender is very special to them because Arra proposed to Joy at the Sequim Lavender Festival! So precious!!!
Joy and Arra got married at the height of Covid; it was a very intimate ceremony with the two of them and their families. Although special to share with family, they really sacrificed their vision thanks to Covid. Together we planned a vow renewal ceremony that felt true to who they are.

Roses in full bloom, Joy and Arra snuggled up for a picnic, set between rows and rows of roses. They fed each other cake, popped some cider, and reminisced over their favorite memories from their love story so far. This is what their picture perfect garden vow renewal looked like in the Point Defiance Rose Garden in Tacoma, Washington.
With the deer popping in occasionally there as their witness, we found a private spot in the garden, and Joy and Arra shared vows they had written to one another. During this time is when Arra surprised Joy with the vintage style lavender pressed earrings that I had designed! It was such a fun and special moment, and I feel honored to have been able to document it for them. After the ceremony, they shared a First dance, and we wandered the garden as the sun began to set.

My wife and I had the opportunity to work with Jess over the summer, and I cannot rave enough about how well it went. First off, Jess was so flexible when we had to reschedule last minute, and she was so easy to communicate and work with. During the actual photo shoot, it was very clear that we were working with an artist.
Her passion for photography was very evident, and she is TALENTED. I haven’t worked with too many photographers myself, and this was my very first photoshoot with a professional, but even I could tell that Jess is someone very special.
She was able to capture some beautiful and intimate shots between my wife and me that only someone with her talent/eye would be able to capture, and I will always be so grateful to her.
