Here is a round-up of the very best small venues in Washington State. From cozy estates and castles to quaint gardens, to fairytale forests, to the riverside (and waterfall side) retreats – here are my favorite small wedding venues in Washington state.

Washington Wedding Venues in gardens

Christianson’s Nursery & Greenhouse

Cozy, organic greenhouse with various space options.

LocationMt. Vernon, Washington

Accommodates: 150

Best for: Weddings and also features cozy spaces for smaller (under 50) groups


  • The Vinery + Patio – Charming antique barn space including lofts that can seat 150
  • The Meadow schoolhouse and gardens – small cottage with an English rose garden. Can seat 50, or the garden can accommodate 150.
  • The Teachers Cottage – Rustic antique cottage, great for getting ready
  • The Oak Room – a space with vintage leather and antique décor, great for getting ready
  • The Front House and Adjoining Propagation House – Cozy glass greenhouse space available in the evenings – great for a small group of 50 and under or used for photography

Woodinville lavender farm

Beautiful lavender farm and garden nestled in Woodinville Wine Country. 

Location: Woodinville, Washington

Accommodates: 60

Best for: Small weddings (up to 60 people) and elopements. Includes a lower cost elopement option for 15 or fewer.

Volunteer Park Conservatory

Quaint, organic plant nursery with wonderful options nearby for after ceremony celebrations.

Location: Seattle, Washington 

Accommodates: 25

Best for: Intimate ceremonies (no reception allowed)


  • Conservatory room, offering a warm, lush, cozy environment for an intimate wedding ceremony for up to 25 people.

Washington Wedding Venues in cozy estates

Thornwood Castle

A majestic yet cozy castle that will make you feel like royalty.

Location: Lakewood, Washington 

Accommodates: 200 in outdoor spaces, 125 in indoor spaces – but 50 is the standard number of guests included in fees. Additional guests can be added for a fee.

Best for: Small to mid-size weddings (up to 60 people)

Spaces:  Every event has full access to all spaces 

  • Sunken English Garden (Outdoor Ceremony, 200 guest max)
  • Lakeside Lawn (Outdoor Ceremony/Reception, 200 guest max)
  • Front Castle Lawn (Outdoor Ceremony/Reception, 200 guest max)

Stimson Green Mansion

An elegant estate that is a non-profit for historical preservation

Location: Seattle, Washington 

Accommodates: 75 for a seated ceremony and 50 for a seated dinner. The parlor can accommodate another 20 for dinner. 150 total for cocktail-style events.

Best for: Small to mid-size weddings, and elopements

Spaces:  Every event has full access to all spaces

  • Library
  • Parlor

The Corson building

Elegant estate with a fabulous restaurant sourced locally for fine dining. 

Location: Seattle, Washington 

Accommodates: 30 – 80 depending on the time of year. 30 can be seated in the indoor dining room, and 80 can expand onto the patio.

Best for: Micro-weddings or elopements 


  • Main restaurant 
  • Patio with garden setting (ivy walls and strung lights)
  • Private Dining Room (upstairs), originally the home’s main living space, seats 14

Na-Mu Lodge

Cozy Airbnb-style estate with a panoramic view of the mountains. 

Locationn: Leavenworth Washington 

Accommodates: Up to 30

Best for: Micro-weddings or elopements

  • Patio with mountain views (where the ceremony takes place)

The Griffin House (BONUS)

Cozy home setting with an epic gorge view

Location: Hood River, Oregon (In Oregon, but included here as a bonus!)

Accommodates: 175 

Best for: Intimate style elopements as well as larger wedding celebrations

Spaces:  Every event has full access to all spaces

Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater 

Forest setting event space with epic waterfall views. 

Location: Snoqualmie, Washington 

Accommodate: Up to 350 people

Spaces:  Every event has full access to all spaces

The River House

Fun location sitting on the Skykomish river. The River House is the home of an Outdoor Adventure Center with several fun activities available!

Location: Index, Washington 

Accommodates: 200 outdoors, 40 indoors

Best for: Wedding, or Micro-wedding

Salish Lodge

An elegant lodge that sits above the iconic Washington Snoqualmie Falls.

Location: Snoqualmie, Washington

Accommodate: 30-125

Best for: Wedding, micro-wedding, or elopement

  • Cliffside Room – Breathtaking falls view with balcony

Lake Quinault Lodge 

Rustic and cozy lodge with hiking and waterfalls nearby!

Location: Olympic National Park, Washington

Accommodates: Up to 80 people

Best for: Micro-wedding or Elopement

Nature Bridge

Rustic outdoor location with a cozy indoor dining hall

Location: Olympic National Park, WA

Accommodates: Up to 120 people

Woodland Gardens

Close to the big city, yet a world away. Woodland Gardens is nestled on large acreage of lush forested property on beautiful Vashon Island.

Location: Vashon Island, WA

Accommodate: Small groups, all the way up to 300 people

Best for: Micro-Wedding or larger wedding

Spaces:  Although a large property with opportunity for larger traditional style wedding, this property has various spaces. The Orchard is an expansive lawn that can seat 300. Whereas the The Grove is an intimate space nestled under Maple trees, and would be perfect for a cozy candle dinner on a long communal table.

Fern Acres
